A Little History:
Like most alternative medicine, homeopathy goes back to ancient times. Around 400 BC Hippocrates referred to the principle "let like be cured by like" in some of his writings.
Paracelsus (1493-1541), a alchemist, surgeon, and man of medicine, stated "what makes a man ill also cures him" relating to homeopathic cures and used it when caring for his patients.
Homeopathy was brought to the forefront in the 1790's by German Physician, Samuel Christian Friedrich Hahnemann(1755-1843). Hahnemann formulated the laws and philosophy of homeopathy and discovered many of the core remedies we use today.
Considered to be one of the founders of homeopathy in America, Constantin Hering (1800 - 1880), a German physician, originally thought homeopathy was quackery but after a personal experience he formulated Hering's Law of Cure from his observations and made many other valuable contributions to natural medicine.
Before the 1900's more than 25% of American doctors were also homeopaths until the AMA started repressing homeopathic medical schools and cracking down on doctors who practiced homeopathy because of competition with Western Medicine. Homeopathy made a come back in America in the 20th century along with other alternative therapies, although it was always popular in Europe.
WHAT IS HOMEOPATHY AND WHAT IT CAN DO FOR YOUR DOG (PET):
Homeopathy is based on the "Law of Similars" which states: "a substance that in large doses will produce symptoms of a specific disease will, in extremely small doses, cure it".
Homeopathic remedies are made from natural occuring plant, animal or mineral substances. The remedies are approved by the FDA and are usually used alongside of, or as part of, the standard medical and veterinary systems in most countries.
Homeopathic remedies are chosen on the basis of symptoms, not disease... the challenge is finding the correct remedy, which is why it is good to consult a homeopathic vet for guidance.
Remedies are prepared by the process of successive dilution and potentizations, with the ending result not containing any trace of the original material, but with each dilution the potion becomes more potent for healing.
Homeopathy helps dogs (animals) strengthen their internal immune system by stimulating their bodies natural response to fighting disease.
The benefit to this is three fold:
1) The disease is cured in all body systems, the immune system strengthened.
2) There is now a natural defense against the predisposition and re-occurrence of this disease.
3) There are no side effects or other harm done from synthetic chemicals.
The cost of Homeopathic remedies are very inexpensive compared to the drugs used today. Depending on the Illness, the dogs condition and given the correct remedy you may see results rapidly or within a few days.
There are over 2000 remedies available for emotional problems, infections, allergies, skin disorders, dysfunctional kidney's, and more...another reason to consult a homeopathic vet.

A Note On Alternative Therapies
Mixing herb, aromatherapy, homeopathy, and/or any medication on your own may cause problems for your pet. Always tell your vet what your pet is taking and/or what alternative therapies you are using to avoid unpleasant interactions.
Keep in mind when using alternative products and services, the treatments are gentle to the dog's body and can take up to several months to see results.
Please be aware of what you give your pet; the herbal, aromatherapy, homeopathy products I carry have been around for awhile and are safe... but there are herbs, aromatherapy oils, and homeopathic products that can be toxic to your pet if not given properly(and in some cases, at all).
